With holiday season in full force, it’s easy to get caught up in all the Black Friday sales and bright, shiny, new things. But this year we encourage you to grab some friends, family and co-workers and give back to the community. The experience is guaranteed to warm your heart this winter season and can go a very long way in someone else’s life.
Take a look at some of the initiatives we at the SSC HQ are getting involved in:
Give Blood
You can do this at a number of clinics throughout the city and it doesn’t cost you a cent! Click here to find a clinic near you to book an appointment.
Gift Sorter/Wrapper
The Neighbourhood Centre’s Holiday Hamper Initiative provides essential items and gifts to low income families, as well as newcomers, seniors and youth. Spend a day between December 19th and 23rd sorting and wrapping toys, food and clothes! Many hands make for light work. For more information click here.
Adopt an animal with WWF
Because hey, who wouldn’t want to be a proud parent of a panda? Click here to donate.
Young Street Mission
Organize a food/toy/clothing drive with your colleagues and drop off the items directly to their office (306 Gerrard St. East). OR if it’s easier, drop off your donation to our office at 245 Eglinton Ave E! We’ll be making a delivery on December 20th. Click here for more information.
Donate Books
Books can make such an impact on both the patients and families at SickKids. Put together a library of new books that include anything from picture books to board games to non-fiction/fiction stories. Get more information here.

Together, let’s spread some holiday cheer!
