The first Mississauga Sport & Social Club leagues started back in the spring of 2010. Soccer games were played in the outfields of softball diamonds, while volleyball games were held in gyms not much larger than today’s bachelor apartment.
Now, I’m looking the Mississauga club square in the face and seeing something brand new. It’s undergoing a facelift, and frankly, it’s never looked better.
With two of Mississauga’s newest indoor and outdoor facilities now under their belt, you’ll get to experience brand new leagues and a whole new playing experience this fall season. Boasting Canada’s largest sports dome and premium field house will be Mississauga Secondary School, now home to the North end’s indoor and outdoor turf programs. Just think of all the sports you’ll get to enjoy year-round in this massive new facility.
South-enders say hello to your new home. Applewood Secondary School welcomes you to its new, lit, outdoor, turf field. With a fully suspended netting system, all the action is guaranteed to stay on the fields. Game nights are going to be seriously lit. The party doesn’t stop there, however, as there’s more good news inside. A healthy amount of prime-time gym space now belongs to the Mississauga Sport & Social Club. True hardwood gym floors lay the groundwork for a variety of basketball, volleyball, pickleball and futsal formats.
These three new venues make for a refreshing new start to some of the city’s most popular programs. It’s truly a great time to be a Mississaugan.
Keep your eyes peeled and your ears cleaned to ensure you don’t miss any updates on this exciting procedure, and make sure you’re opted in to receive email notifications from the Mississauga Sport & Social Club. A special Early Bird registration period will be shared with members before registration is announced to the rest of the city.
Stay tuned and get ready for the new face of the Mississauga Sport & Social Club.
